Testing and trialling are crucial parts of the development process, and also enable the gathering of data to support the certification process. Australia hosts world-class test ranges: ReefWorks, AMS-TEC and MILTECS. Australia has two world-class maritime autonomous systems test and evaluation facilities that are open to industry, government and academic innovators. Both facilities offer unique capabilities to support the development and certification of maritime autonomous systems.
REEFWORKS
ReefWorks is a secure marine technology test and evaluation facility open to industry, government and academic innovators. Located at the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) in North Queensland, ReefWorks provides a unique environment for testing maritime autonomous systems.

MILTECS
Operated by EP Equipment near Brisbane, MILTECS provides over 14 acres across 3 locations in SE Queensland for testing UGVs and UAS. MILTECS provides the ideal location to test, trial and evaluate uncrewed ground and uncrewed aerial systems and payloads in a safe, managed environment. Located in Queensland, MILTECS offers diverse terrain and controlled airspace.

AMS-TEC
The Australian Maritime Systems Technology and Evaluation Centre at the University of Tasmania provides comprehensive maritime autonomous systems testing capabilities.
